On July 1st, I’m going to be formally launching a new project, but wanted to offer you a sneak peek.
The purpose of the project is to provide career advice, guidance, direction, coaching, and networking. Working on career-oriented projects like Be the Master, Let’s Talk Business, and Own Your Tech Career have been tremendously rewarding, and I’ve been mulling over several ways in which I could offer more to people. I also wanted to find way to let people help each other, something I enjoyed doing immensely with PowerShell.org and other community projects.
The project will be called the Ampere Club. Yeah, there’s a whole process by which that name came to be, and it has some special personal connections that we can get into another time.
At its core, it’ll be a weekly newsletter with new, original content—including articles, interviews, career case studies, soft skill tips, and a lot more. I’m also building two virtual events, one focused on career navigation and the other on leadership skills. There’ll also be free and discounted books, along with value-priced one-on-one career coaching, and a lot more.
In 2022, I’ll also be launching a career-focused equivalent of “DevOps Camp,” an in-person, small-attendance event where we’ll focus intensely on career development, building soft skills, sharpening business acumen, and a lot more.
If you’d like to give it a swing for free, you can head to Ampere Club and sign up totally for free. That’ll get you a monthly newsletter issue so you can see what it’s all about. Remember, nothing launches until July 1st.
But here’s the sales pitch: Subscriptions for the full set of benefits, including the weekly newsletters, the events, and everything else, it’s $60 per year or $6 per month. But: If you make the jump with me and sign up prior to the 1-July launch, it’ll be just $50 per year, and that price is locked in for the duration of your subscription. So that’s about 80,000 words of content a year, two virtual events, access to career coaching, at least one free and one discounted book, and more, all for $50.
Oh, and there’ll be a private Slack workspace as well, designed to help encourage professional networking and peer-to-peer career-building. It’ll have monthly themed discussion topics to kick things off, and if you’ve subscribed for a full year then you’re a member of the Slack workspace for life.
I will be launching weekly paid-members-only newsletter issues in June, so you’ll actually be getting the full set of benefits pretty much right away. Oh, and paid members can always view the back issues on the website, so if you miss an email, it’s easy to go back and catch up.
I’m looking forward to this new project—I’ve got a ton of articles already lined up, and I’ve got some great interviews and case studies on the calendar. I’m especially looking forward to doing the career coaching with anyone who’ll take me up on it. Hopefully, you’ll find this to be a valuable offering and will give it a shot with me!
